Chinese Lanterns Light Up Raleigh
Dragon display featured at the Chinese Lantern Festival.
The Chinese Lantern Festival has returned to the Triangle. Koka Booth Amphitheatre has transformed their classic concert setting into a mystical lantern festival.
The festival includes more than 20 displays composed of thousands of LED lights. Each display is created with silk fabric stretched over steel frames. The lanterns were handmade and shipped in from the Chinese manufacturers.
This year the festival includes mechanical dinosaurs, illuminated swings and interactive games for people of all ages. The lantern festival also features multiple shows including a foot juggler and Chinese acrobats.
Sanderson Senior Sarah Anne Cook attended the festival and shared her experience, “It was so unlike anything else that you could do in Raleigh, I loved the culture and lights”
If purchasing tickets, Koka Booth recommends buying them in advance for a reduced price of $15. If tickets are bought on site they will be sold for $18. The festival will be open until January 12th.
