Sandpipers sing in the season

Sanderson’s advanced choral group, the Sandpipers, as well as the overall choir program has had a successful 2018, and they intend to end it on a high note.

The Sandpipers have accomplished much this school year. They performed for the student body, practiced daily, and had the honor of performing at the North Carolina Music Educators Conference in November. The group also entered to win the Mix 101.5 Christmas Choir Concert. The Sandpipers submitted their rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” for the contest, and they performed the song during Sanderson’s annual “Holly Days” market as well. Though they put forth a valiant effort, the singers sadly lost to Apex Friendship High School in the second to last round of voting.

The Sandpipers will also be singing in the season during a sing-along night at Sola Coffee Cafe. The following night, the entire choral program will carol at the same location. Come out and support your singing Spartans!
