Mary Poppins returns

This holiday season, the beloved classic Mary Poppins will return to the big screen as a 2018 continuation entitled Mary Poppins Returns. Starring Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel-Miranda, the film is expected to be a big hit when it premiers on December 19. The star-studded cast is full of award-winning actors including Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury, and Dick Van Dyke who played Bert in the original 1964 film. Mary Poppins Returns is in good hands with director Rob Marshall, who has directed Annie, Into the Woods, and other award-winning films throughout his career.

Mary Poppins Returns continues the story of siblings Jane and Michael Banks, now all grown up and living in London during the Great Depression. After the family experiences a personal loss, they are revisited by the mysterious and magical nanny of their childhood. Together with her friend Jack, the beloved Mary Poppins reminds the Banks family of the wonder in the world — and introduces it to Michael’s three children for the first time.

Though it’s a new storyline and a new cast, Mary Poppins Returns just might remind you of your own childhood magic.
