2017 was a year of jubilation as well as disappointment for Beyonce fans. The Queen Bee was set to be the headlining performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival but left her adoring followers, known as “the beyhive,” discouraged when she called off her appearance. The reason for cancelling, however, made up for the initial disappointment: she was pregnant with twins.

One year later, Beyonce has returned to Coachella back and better than ever as the first black woman to headline for Coachella. To add to the excitement, her comeback performance reunited Destiny’s Child, Beyonce’s unbeatable trio who had not performed together since 2015.

After Beyonce began her set, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland accompanied her for three throwback songs by their former R&B/pop girl group. The three sang “Lose My Breath,” “Survivor,” and “Soldier,” which wowed the crowd and quickly gained social media attention.

Fans were ecstatic to say the least. Sanderson junior Caroline Stageman exclaimed, “My friend Olivia and I are really into Destiny’s Child, so this is a big deal for us. We’ve been waiting on this for years! I wish we could have gone and experienced this historic moment for ourselves.” The 90’s may be gone, but the greatness that is Destiny’s Child lives on forever!
